The Association

Seminars, conferences, training courses… there are many opportunities for controllers to develop their professional skills. Often, however, these are deliberately tailored to experienced professionals or are not accessible to young professionals and students due to high costs. As a result, there is no easy way to expand your professional network outside your own company and thus create new perspectives. We want to change this situation. That is why we have this initiative by and for Young Finance Professionals. We are part of the International Controller Association.

With this initiative, our aim is to give job starters, younger professionals and students the opportunity to take their own further education and career development into their own hands. To this end, we offer a platform on which interested parties can exchange information in various formats. We want to be the largest and most exciting platform for young finance professionals, promoting networking, exchange with like-minded people and the development of individuals.

Our offer is aimed at young people with an interest in the fields of Controlling/Finance/Data Science, such as those with up to 15 years of professional experience, career starters, doctoral candidates/scientific staff and students.

What Sets Us Apart

We love what we do.

We network and are all the stronger as a community.

We support each other and do not accept standstill.

We also exchange ideas in private and have a good time together.

The membership is currently free of charge.

Just write to us at hello@youngfinanceprofessionals.de.

Of course. Our goal is to connect like-minded people. So if you are interested in Controlling/Data Science/FP&A, we are at your disposal.

For us, a "Young Finance Professional" is anyone who is at the beginning of their career. Students with an interest in financial planning & analysis can also participate.

Without a doubt, controlling will change - for example through digital transformation. Young professionals are digital natives, have an excellent education and can provide impulses for further development.

About Us

In 2019, we started with the first ideas for the “Young Finance Professionals” project. For quite some time we had identified the problem that there was no real platform for exchange and networking for young people who share the interest and/or experience in the fields of controlling/data science/financial planning. In cooperation with the ICV (International Controller Association) we have developed an attractive and exciting concept which is the current basis for our platform. We are committed to developing our members through networking, exchange and mentoring, and we want them to think outside the box. We are constantly growing and are happy about new members who actively promote the exchange.

Our Partners

The International Controller Association was founded in 1975 as the first controller association by graduates of the Controller Academy in Gauting/Munich. With its honorary chairman Dr. Dr. h.c. Albrecht Deyhle, the association has shaped controlling in German-speaking countries and set standards. In the meantime, the ICV has over 6,000 personal members in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and eleven other countries in Central and Eastern Europe as well as individual members all over the world. In addition, there are more than 200 corporate members. The ICV is the international address for controlling competence.

Valsight supports the Young Finance Professionals Initiative as a sponsor. The SaaS company from Berlin has developed an agile cloud solution for financial modelling, forecasting and scenario simulation. This enables management to react flexibly and quickly to new findings and increases security and predictability in a dynamic and complex business environment. Well-known companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Commerzbank and Siemens, among others, use the software and have thus been able to improve their corporate management and increase the efficiency of planning processes.

Privacy Policy International Controller Association e.V.

The International Controller Association e.V. (ICV) is an internationally oriented network of people involved in controlling. Founded in 1975 by graduates of the CA Akademie AG (CA), the association has shaped controlling in the German-speaking world. Since then, ICV and CA have maintained a joint address pool. This is now operated in "Joint Controlling" in accordance with Art. 26 EU-DSGVO and is processed exclusively by employees of the two cooperation partners. ICV and CA have contractually agreed on the cooperation in accordance with Art. 26 EU-DSGVO and in particular have regulated the competencies and responsibilities of both contractual partners. No data will be passed on to third parties for further use. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

This privacy policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data within the framework of the data processing procedures and within the ICV's online offering and the websites, functions and content associated with it. This privacy policy applies regardless of the domains, systems, platforms and devices used to run the online service.

Registration for membership and events of the ICV

If you register online, by phone, fax or mail for membership or for an event of the ICV, we collect and store the requested data and pass them on to the below mentioned institutions for the fulfillment of the contract, as far as it is necessary for the membership and the preparation and realization of the event.

For acceptance as a member, we require the title, first name and surname, date of birth, private and/or company address, telephone, e-mail, the delivery address for receiving Controller Magazine and FINANCE Magazine, the billing address, as well as the date of admission to membership, for service fulfillment and for direct communication with you.

Voluntary details are title, fax, mobile, function, interest in the working group. Often the applications for membership are made by third parties of the employer of the prospective members, who are thus also our contractual partners. For the communication with the employers we therefore also collect a so-called "booking contact" as well as a "billing contact".

To register for events, we need the title, first and last name, company, address, telephone, email and the information whether an ICV membership exists. We also need this information for the fulfillment of services and for direct communication with you. For communication with these third parties, we therefore also collect a so-called "booking contact" and a "billing contact". Voluntary details are function, department, comment field. The communication with your employer will be in the form as indicated when booking the event.

We store this mandatory data as well as the data voluntarily provided to us on our own server in Wörthsee (Federal Republic of Germany) for the purpose of providing our contractual services in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b EU-DSGVO. For maintenance and to guarantee security, we work with external service providers who are based in the Federal Republic of Germany or Switzerland; or on servers that meet the requirements of the Privacy Shield Agreement and are therefore subject to the EU-DSGVO and German data protection law.

Implementation of events of the ICV

We use the data you have provided us with as follows to carry out the events for which you have registered:

  • If hotel bookings are made by the ICV, the hotel will receive a list of participants for processing the hotel services between participants and hotel. The list contains the names, company, postal code and location of the participants.
  • The person organizing the event will receive a list of participants containing the first and last names of the participants, function and address of the registering organization. This serves as preparation for the group of participants.
  • An important part of our events is the networking and exchange of experience between the participants. For this reason, the participants will receive a list of all participants of an event on site, which contains the following data - first and last name, function, company name and location.
  • For the follow-up of the event, information will be sent to the participants via email if necessary.

After termination of the ICV membership

The data collected by us for membership will remain stored even after the membership has ended. On the one hand, this applies to the data required for accounting purposes in accordance with Art. 17 Para. 3 lit. b EU-DSGVO, which is subject to the statutory storage regulations. On the other hand, this concerns the information that a membership existed and that there are interruptions of the membership, in case it is reactivated later. There is also the change from personal membership to corporate membership and vice versa, for which the data is also kept.

Following the events of the ICV

Cookies can be small files or other types of information storage that are downloaded to the computer or mobile device. The online offers recognize a later visit and the corresponding visit paths in order to facilitate the use of the pages and to make them more individual.

We use the following cookies:
Permanent cookies, which remain stored on devices even after closing the browser. Each visit to the website activates them again. This makes it possible to recognize recurring visits (e.g. to save your login status or to enable the booking function and thus the use of our online offer at all). A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a permanent cookie. In addition, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. These cookies cannot store any other data. Permanent cookies are deleted after a specified period of time or when you log out.

Third-party cookies, which are stored, for example, by companies for the analysis of websites in order to provide us with information about the number and duration of visits to the online offer.

Cookies and their setting options
Cookies enable the efficient and individual use of all functions of our online offers. Without cookies some functions and offers are not available.

Most browsers offer various options for protecting your privacy. Deactivating cookies means that it is not possible to save new cookies. It does not prevent previously set cookies from continuing to work on the device until all cookies have been deleted in the browser settings. The help function of the browser or the operating instructions of the end device describe an individual administration of the cookie settings. In addition, company-specific settings may be regulated by guidelines.

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active).

When a user calls up a function of this online offer that contains such a plugin, his device establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to the user's device and integrated into the online offer by the user. User profiles can be created from the processed data. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and therefore inform the users according to our state of knowledge.

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that a user has called up the corresponding page of the online offer. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his or her Facebook account. When users interact with the plugins, for example, by pressing the Like button or posting a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your device to Facebook and stored there. If a user is not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to find out his or her IP address and store it. According to Facebook, only an anonymized IP address is stored in Germany.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as the relevant rights and setting options to protect the privacy of users, can be found in the Facebook data protection information: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about him or her via this online offer and link it to his or her membership data stored on Facebook, he or she must log out of Facebook and delete his or her cookies before using our online offer.
